How To Expertly Teach Slow, Conscious Yoga And Get It To The People Who Really Need It
Without enrolling in another expensive, time-consuming training program.

The world is full of fast, fitness yoga classes - taught by fitness-oriented yoga teachers.
I’ve discovered that many yoga teachers prefer to teach slow, mindful practices, but they’re afraid if they leave the strenuous stuff behind, they’ll lose students.

They’re worried that students won’t value slow, mindful yoga.

They don’t understand how to explain the value of slow yoga to their students or potential students.

And they fear that studio owners won’t offer them any good time slots.

They also worry that even if they did start to share slower yoga, they don’t really know the best way to shift their classes over to a more internal, mindful style.
It’s not your fault, or your students’ fault...
The myth is that slow and mindful practice is inferior to hot, fast, hypermobile, and/or strenuous yoga. The yoga industry insists that slow and mindful is for beginners, old people, sick people, or people who are just out of shape.

Slow and mindful is viewed as just a stepping stone to a “real” harder, faster, hypermobile practice.
The intrinsic value of slow, mindful yoga is either completely ignored, or wholly misunderstood.
A lot of people think that slow, mindful yoga is a complete waste of time.
Another challenge - most yoga teachers who would prefer to share slow, mindful practices either:
  • Aren’t equipped with the skills and tools they need to be able to adapt postures and other practices to many different kinds of students because it wasn’t part of their YTT.
  • Don’t know how to explain the science behind slow practices.
  • Feel frustrated because they can’t convey to their students the nervous system resilience building benefits.

Unfortunately... it gets worse...
Diligent, committed yoga professionals, dedicated to evolving as teachers and
reaching larger sections of the population, have already:
Completed a 200 or 500 hour yoga teacher training program, but found that they lacked tools to reach real people.
Found that most of their students need something more accessible.
Realized that most of their students would NOT eventually be able to nail hard poses.
Started incorporating some restorative or Yin yoga, but realized they wanted to incorporate other techniques as well.
Felt like they could get more out of their sequencing.
Found that they need more info about the difference between fitness yoga and nervous system resilience building yoga.
What they didn’t know is that their evolving, authentic teaching style is a bit different from how they were trained.

these dedicated teachers also have to consider:
Time and Money
They realize that they need more training, but it’s expensive! $3,000 - $5000 or more - plus travel and lost work/family time in order to study with truly experienced, authentic teachers.
Filling Knowledge Gaps
It’s tough to find a program that can fill key knowledge gaps so that they can improve their effectiveness, success, and longevity as a yoga teacher.
The Road Less Traveled
They want to teach differently, but there’s not many people doing it, and there’s not a lot of support for it.

Before I created Subtle® Yoga 16 years ago, I felt like I was standing alone out in the cold, yoga mat in hand. I didn’t know where to teach or how I would succeed.

It was a huge decision to do it anyway. To forge my own path and stand in my power and authenticity, despite the trends in the yoga industry. It meant I had to let go of a lot and allow myself to realize something important.
AND IT SHIFTED EVERYTHING FOR ME

Deep in my heart I knew that the slow, mindful yoga I loved and taught was transformative. It had changed my life and I wanted to help others get beyond the trendiness, the strive-drive, the perfectionism, the body-image issues, and actually learn to use these deep, expansive practices to make their lives better...not just nail a handstand.

My learning and experience weren’t enough. What people really need is to know why. I realized if I could begin to understand the science behind slow, mindful yoga and be able to expertly explain these benefits, then I’d be able to reach a much larger audience.
I'D BE WAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE.
So many people need slow and I knew I could help them. But I also began to notice a very disturbing trend - the number of people who desperately need slow, mindful yoga literally has exploded.

With all this illness AND all the info about the benefits of exercise you gotta ask:
++ Why are people getting sicker and sicker?

++ Why aren’t they exercising more and eating better?

++ Why is there a healthcare crisis?
Exercise is great and there’s a ton of evidence behind its benefits.

But if your nervous system is out of whack, if you are constantly in fight or flight mode, and if your body is flooded with toxic stress hormones, exercise alone may not shift your nervous system out of its hyperdrive state and build a strong resilient nervous system.
Since 1968, when Dr. Kenneth Cooper published his book “Aerobics,” western culture has been bombarded with the message that hard, fast, sweaty exercise is essential to health. So it’s no wonder that yoga got absorbed into the fitness industry.
Our society has been conditioned to believe that fitness is the only benefit of yoga and so yoga has to be hard and strenuous to work.
But this is completely inaccurate.

HERE'S THE TRUTH:
Slow, conscious yoga has enormous health benefits beyond exercise.
It has intrinsic value for everyone - not just for people who can’t do the hot, fast, sweaty “real” stuff.

Slow, mindful yoga is just as important as any other self-care activity you or your students engage in. Even the extreme athlete - NEEDS slow, conscious practices in their lives.

And guess what?

There’s a surplus of FITNESS-BASED yoga teachers, but very few expert teachers who can share slow, conscious practices effectively.

The world needs you and you are ahead of the curve.

I’d love to share a little of my story.
I'm kristine kaoverii weber
I started studying yoga seriously in 1989, I started teaching in 1995, and I started training yoga teachers in 2003. I am strongly dedicated to slow, conscious practices. I even lived and studied yoga and healing arts in Asia for 4 years.

For the past 10 years I’ve been studying the neuroscientific benefits of yoga and meditation and I specialize in teaching yoga professionals how to explain these benefits to their students.

In 2018 I released 2 online courses for yoga professionals. I’m humbled, and deeply grateful for the incredible response I’ve had to these courses. The interest has validated my belief that the world needs this information, desperately.

Spending A Ton of Time Or Money
Without traveling, taking time off of work, and dropping $3,000-$5,000 on another teacher training you can learn with me online at your convenience.

I’m sharing the gems of my teaching, honed over the past 24 years of teaching, 16 years of training yoga teachers, and 10 years of studying the neuroscience behind these practices and training mental health professionals.
Feeling like a second rate teacher
I know how frustrating it is to be given the cold shoulder by students or studios who consider you second rate because you don’t teach elite athlete yoga. If you don’t have powerful justification for your work you’ll lose these folks.

When you are able to both expertly adapt practices to meet the needs of the people in front of you, and explain the science behind why slow, conscious yoga is so beneficial everyone wins.
Feeling unable to support all your students
Not having enough tools to help the people who show up can be frustrating. But learning to teach variations of common postures, so that everyone can participate in your classes will help you overcome that. They’ll have confidence in you and value your expertise.

Most yoga teachers receive training suitable for teaching one type of person… the elite athlete/fitness enthusiast.
But then there are the rest of us.
We have injuries or limited mobility, we have chronic health problems or energy issues, or perhaps we just can’t do anything CLOSE to the poses the teacher demonstrates.
AND we need yoga too! But NOT performance yoga.
Being able to expertly teach slow, conscious accessible yoga safely means:

Greater recognition
When word gets out about how healing, relaxing, and beneficial your classes are, any concerns about not having students will evaporate. Your classes will be unique and you’ll no longer get treated like a second rate teacher. You’ll have so many more tools and be able to serve so many more people.

TRANSFORM LIVES
Slow, mindful yoga improves brain function, builds nervous system resilience, increases interoception, develops mindfulness, increases psychological flexibility, reduces inflammation, improves self-regulation and, ultimately, creates better health. Students will feel successful because they don’t have to sit out postures and catch up later because you can adapt your instructions to suit their personal needs.
REALIZE YOUR DEEPER PURPOSE
You have the opportunity to improve your sense of competency, confidence, and mastery AND you’ll feel the satisfaction of reaching more people by skillfully adapting your teaching. Students will be eternally grateful for helping them reduce pain, lift depression, reduce anxiety. and improve chronic conditions. or their attitude toward their chronic conditions.
Your teaching confidence will increase because you’ll have more to offer!
You can let go of worry that you don’t know how to help people who can’t sit easily on the floor or who have knee pain, back pain, or mobility issues.

Healthcare professionals will gratefully refer clients to you because they know what you teach is safe and healthy as opposed to risky or potentially dangerous.

I put a lot of thought into how much to charge for this course in order to strike a balance between reaching as many yoga professionals as possible so that they can have a greater impact in the world, and reflecting the value of my personal experience and expertise as an international leader of the slow, conscious yoga movement.

When I sat down and looked closely at each piece of the program and thought about its value, it added up to nearly US$10,000!

However, I wanted to price it more like a 5 day training, although it has much more content than you could ever pack into a shorter training.

I put a lot of thought into how much to charge for this course in order to strike a balance between reaching as many yoga professionals as possible so that they can have a greater impact in the world, and reflecting the value of my personal experience and expertise as an international leader of the slow, conscious yoga movement.

When I sat down and looked at each piece of the program and thought about its value. it added up to nearly US$10,000!

However, I wanted to priced it more like a 5 day training, although it has much more content than you could ever pack into a shorter training.

In this course I’m sharing the gems of my teaching, honed over the past 24 years of teaching, 16 years of training yoga teachers, and 10 years of training mental health professionals and studying the neuroscience behind these practices.

I’ve condensed and compiled it into a convenient and easy-to-digest online training. You can go at your own pace and access the information anytime you like in the comfort of your own home. AND there are no quizzes or tests because it’s primarily experiential learning.

Your content, professionalism, accessibility of information, completeness and the format/ platform were impeccable! I thoroughly enjoyed the Yoga and Neuroscience Connection. It helped to hear concepts applied to the various parts of yoga and the relationships between them. Thank you so much! I hope this is a tremendous success.
- Kyczy Hawk
I have to tell you that this is a really good program. I am a Yoga Therapist and think I know my stuff but you really put it together for me in a great way and it is so accessible for teachers and they can pass it on to clients to understand your simple, but principled way of teaching the art of slow. Thank you very much! Therapeutic (and now slow) is all I teach and now I have a nice way of explaining it!!
- Claudia Cardin-Kleffner, Overland Park, Kansas
For you folks in the therapy community, if you haven't signed up for the Yoga and Neuroscience Connection training, the Embodied Cognition portion alone is worth it!!! I so wish that course had been around when I was studying neuropsych! I love the way K. integrates the science with the felt experience. That is very rare in the mental-health community. Her explanation of how the different systems respond to threats was worth doing the training!
- Scott Herman, Cookeville, Tennessee
I have had a ‘slow’ yoga business for many years (almost 8 in my own studio and a decade of teaching before that) and I am only JUST learning how to really reach out to find my tribe. I do have a cup that is so full with knowledge and passion to share and yet my community still is so small. I continue to persevere and search for the ethical way forward and the one that calls me forth as you eloquently discuss. I look forward to your course, thank you for all that you are doing to bring this slow yoga revolution to the forefront. I am right here with you and it’s nice to know we are in this together!
- Lindsay Knazan
My request is that you get out there and start expertly sharing slow, conscious yoga NOW.

The quick easy way?

Jump into this training program.

You can always embark on this path yourself and spend years researching and trying to figure it all out, or you can have it all compiled for you… you can learn from someone who has been teaching slow, mindful practices for 24 years and who has become a leader in the field.

Slow, conscious yoga is the antidote to the fast-paced, crazy world we live in.
At a conference last year I asked Sat Bir Khalsa, a researcher at Harvard if yoga could be part of the solution to the health care crisis. “No,” he said. ”Yoga isn’t part of the solution, it IS the solution. But people are just beginning to understand and value it... Slow, conscious yoga is gradually gaining the recognition that it deserves - and you can be part of this new paradigm.

At the end of this course you’ll have everything you need to help the assorted folks who walk into your class whether they’re your regulars, or one of the many word-of-mouth or healthcare provider referrals.

I have already purchased another of your online courses - The Science of Slow™ or The Yoga & Neuroscience Connection™ - do I really need this course too?
The short answer is... YES!

This course is a comprehensive, information-rich, practical training that will help you expertly teach slow yoga. It has more than 23 hours of video lessons including 10 full length classes. You will learn how to teach slow yoga for brain optimization, nervous system resilience building, and to deepen self-awareness. You’ll learn how to make yoga accessible with many different variations of different categories of postures including lateral bends, extensions, forward bends, twists, inversions and what I like to call “micro-asanas.”

The Science of Slow™ is a shorter course about specific health challenges that may benefit from slower practices including fatigue, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and body image/weight management. It includes about 90 minutes of lectures and 90 minutes of practice, plus a PDF of the slides and a bonus eBook.

The Yoga and Neuroscience Connection™ is an in-depth training about the neuroscience that underlies the 8 Limbs of Yoga system. It includes about 3 hours of practice video and about 6 hours of lecture, plus PDFs of all the slides, a workbook, quizzes, 2 bonus eBooks, and a bonus printable cartoon.

If you are primarily interested in how yoga benefits the brain and body, then The Yoga and Neuroscience Connection™ is a great place to start. If you are also interested in learning a few techniques for specific health challenges, then The Science of Slow™ will be an excellent counterpart to your learning and addition to your knowledge base with some sample ideas about how slow practice can help.

HERE'S THE TRUTH:

I’m TIRED of slow, conscious practices being treated like they’re second rate or lacking any intrinsic value. I’m also tired of the misconception that slow Sun Salutations suffice. I want to be a catalyst for change, I want to help upend these entrenched misconceptions.

But I can’t do it alone.
